Product Description
The ULTRAFLEX Synchronization Rod is designed to mechanically connect two outboard motors in a hydraulic steering system using a single front-mount actuator (e.g., UC128/UC130). Its purpose is to maintain parallel alignment of the engines during turns, stabilize geometry, and provide more predictable steering response during port maneuvers and at higher speeds.
The design is adjustable for engine spacing (center-to-center) and allows independent trimming/tilting of the drive units while maintaining controlled 'linking' of the engines during turns.
Key Features- Application: twin outboard (2 engines) + single cylinder (1 hydraulic actuator).
- System compatibility: for systems with actuator UC128-OBF or UC130-SVS (front mount).
- Length adjustment: fitting to engine spacing within a specified range.
- Independent engine trimming capability (without 'rigid' tilt locking).
- Stainless steel components for marine environments; corrosion-resistant ball joints.
- Product Type: Synchronization Rod (tie bar kit) for installation of 2 outboard motors.
- Control Configuration: 2 engines + 1 hydraulic actuator (single front-mount cylinder).
- Compatible Actuators (typical application): UC128-OBF, UC130-SVS (front mount).
- Engine Spacing Range (center-to-center): 29" – 34.5" (736.6 – 873.76mm).
- Adjustment: Adjustable rod (fitting before or after installation, within range limits).
- Materials: Stainless steel components; electropolished stainless steel ball joints.
- Boats with two outboard engines, where steering is managed by a single hydraulic actuator (front mount).
- Upgrade of steering systems: improving turn geometry and stability.
- Installations requiring adjustable spacing in the range of 736.6–873.76mm (29–34.5").
- Consistent turn of both engines, easier maneuvers, and more predictable steering response.
- More stable geometry at cruising speeds and during course corrections.
- Independent engine trimming, facilitating optimal drive performance.
- Corrosion resistance due to stainless components and electropolished joints.
- The position of the tiller arm varies between engine models, and the spacing may not always be 'ideal' in practice. Unexpected collisions may occur during trimming.
- After installation, perform a full test: left/right turn across the entire range and trim both engines fully, observing any potential collision points.
- Ensure the rod does not operate at the extreme thread of adjustment (leave a safe margin) and that all connections are secured against loosening.
