Product Description

The Simrad NAIS-500 is a compact, lightweight Class B AIS transponder in a Black Box version, ideal for permanent installation. It enables simultaneous sending and receiving of navigational data, allowing early planning of collision avoidance maneuvers. Thanks to full waterproofing (IPX7) and low power consumption, it can operate even on small vessels — from sailboats to small motor yachts.

The transponder offers extensive integration capabilities thanks to numerous interfaces: NMEA 2000®, NMEA 0183®, NMEA 0183® multiplexing, and USB. This allows seamless networking with any chartplotter or multifunction display from the NSS, NSO, and GO series, as well as with the RS VHF system.

The set includes the basic AIS-500 unit (without antennas), allowing the user to select VHF and GPS antennas according to their needs. The NAIS-500 package stands out with a wide power supply voltage range (9–31.2 V DC) and low average current consumption (180 mA at 12 V), making it an optimal solution for both sailing boats and fast motorboats.
